Interact and engage with your marketing: What we can learn from Obama’s website

If you haven’t already checked out the redesigned White House website, you should. This is a terrific example of engaging and interacting with your audience.
It’s one thing to throw some facts about you do on a website. It’s another thing entirely to actively seek engagement. Obama had the new site up within minutes of being sworn in. On the site he seeks transparency with his administration. He encourages communication with an online contact form, he posts pictures, slideshows, a weekly video address, email updates, RSS feeds, and a White House Blog. All of this encourages participation, loyalty, and allows him to listen to the voice of the people he works for.
Take another look at your firm’s website. Are you engaging your clients? Do you have a blog? Do you offer RSS feeds? Do you have slideshows or video? Are you finding ways to engage, interact, and listen to people in need of your services? Are you looking to be a part of the conversation? If you aren’t now is a good time to start.
