If you’ve been a twitter-hater, you will soon be a twitter-lover. With the addtion of its new search engine, the question is no longer if Twitter will go mainstream, but when. Kevin O’keefe’s recent post suggests several uses of twitter-search for lawyers. As staying current is the name of the game, twitter-search returns its results beginning with the most recent first. The search also continually updates itself as more relevant tweets are posted. Like google’s hot 100, twitter-search’s “trending topics” lists what’s being talked about right now. Twitter also provides a “twitter-local” function for geo-targeted tweet searches. While the twitter search engine admittedly has some extra functionality, I am still using TweetDeck’s search window. Look for Twitter usage to sky rocket (even more than it already is)!
