So, I just installed the latest version of AlertThingy and wanted to share my first impressions. AlertThingy v3 brings updates from your social networks to your desktop. Plus send Tweets, update your Facebook status, upload photos to Flickr, post to Tumblr and more. Basically, AlertThingy is an alternative solution to apps such as TweetDeck and Digsby.
It also provides Yammer, Basecamp and Huddle integrations which is the main advantage AlertThingy has over its competitors.
As of this post, AlertThingy lacks integration with LinkedIn, which I am sure is in the works. I would also like to see chat integration so I can ditch Digsby once and for all.
So far, I am impressed. I am constantly looking for one-stop-shop solutions. AlertThingy looks like it might replace a couple of the desktop notifcation apps I am currently running. Haven’t had any problems yet.
If you’re using AlertThingy, please share your experiences.

Yes, please–anything but Digsby. So much promise, so many problems!
