JD Supra describes itself as a repository of free legal information shared by the professionals who generate it.
They offer a database of documents – court filings, decisions, forms, articles, alerts, and newsletters.
For legal professionals, they provide a platform to publish work to a wide audience, maintain a profile, and be credited for their experience, and expertise.
Lawyers, how many times have you posted a request on a listserv or contacted a colleague for filings regarding a similar case? Countless, I am sure. JD Supra takes the leg-work out of collaboration.
This is also a phenomenal platform for lawyers marketing their services.
As we have discussed time and again, lawyer marketing 2.0 is not about merely telling people how great you are. It is all about positioning yourself as an expert.
JD Supra provides attorneys a platform to do just that.

In my opinion, all legal professionals should be using this service.
Instead of merely providing lawyers profiles with arbitrary ratings, JD Supra has created a platform for lawyers to share their work.
Furthermore, JD Supra reviews posted content in order to maintain the quality of the network. This ensures that their database is spam-free.
This is absolutely one of the most effective and efficient online tools available to lawyers.
