I came across this very clever idea for a business card on flickr:

While I’m doubtful that this would pass a copyright challenge (assuming it worth be worth a challenge by goog), it is a sharp business card nonetheless.
Business cards are one of those areas in which lawyers seem very reluctant to “break the standard conventions”. This makes them a perfect tool for differentiation. While I’m not advocating getting too hip, fun, or inappropriate, just like every other opportunity to differentiate, business cards should distinguish your firm from the pack.
Since you simply don’t have a lot of room, and what real estate you do have needs to include the essentials (name, contact info, etc.), make sure to distill down your strongest points of differentiation. If you can, work them into a clever and identifiable design element (I challenge you to beat this one).
In fact, let’s make a contest of it! Send a digital copy of your business card to info@attorneysync.com and we’ll post our top 10 picks and why we chose them.
